Love Letter to my Hometown
A fun passion project to pay homage to my hometown - Miami! I moved out of Miami recently, but there is not a day that goes by where I do not remember the beaming sun on my skin, the ocean breeze in my hair and the salty smell of the air. I used a simple grid to portray the sentimental messaging. With big "Miami" typography on the top of the poster, I used a blending mode to camouflage the typography to seamlessly integrate with the backdrop of the city. The typography is purposely and delicately placed in the periphery of the image to highlight Miami's beautiful sunset colors while keeping a strong typographic emphasis. I used a gentle film grain and noise to enhance the nostalgia feeling that Miami brings me.
